A closer look at one of three brilliant colorways from the Supreme/Nike SB collab.

Recently Supreme handpicked three two-toned color-blocking schemes in the second-ever concept for the low-top Dunks. The Quick Strike collection follows the rule of 3 releasing September 5 (New York, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Paris), September 7 (Japan), and finally September 14 (Nike SNKRS).

What brings them together…

The Quick Strike line sports superior full-grain leather uppers, Foamposite style toe box, jeweled Swoosh, and embroidered Supreme star logo on the lateral heel counter atop a rubber outsole.

Each pair will come with an additional color corresponding set of laces. Zoom air cushion midsole, forefoot pivot circle and circular tread, rubber outsole. “World Famous” is scrolled along the lace aglets and if that were too subtle, Supreme includes a “World Famous” hangtag to clip onto the shoe.

White perforation on vamp and triple stitch on the mustache create additional depth and dimension for each shoe. Co-branding is seen on the tongue and Varsity Red insole.

What sets them apart…

The Quick Strike collection is divided into three colorways: Metallic Silver/Black, Metallic Gold/Midnight Blue, and today’s feature Metallic Red/White. In particular the Red/White color combo is sleek, clean and powerful. All focus is drawn to the strapping red sheen coating the toe box.

Additionally White perforations on the Red vamp create a radiance that is enhanced by the white or red laces. This colorway is more versatile and subtle than its two counterparts. Pairing options are wider and mix-matching the laces makes for even more variety. Definitely the favored of the collection.

Previous collaborations…

Although they have mingled since 2001, Supreme and Nike have had joint endeavors in every season since 2012, with double releases per season from 2017 forward. That being said the two haven’t collaborated together on OG Dunks since 2002 and 2012, respectfully.

Sneakerheads will remember such classics as the ’03 Nike Dunk High Pro SB Supreme, ’06 Nike Blazer SB Supreme, 2010 Nike SB Supreme 94, 2014 Nike Foamposite 1 Supreme and the 2017 Nike Air Humara Supreme.
