Another Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer dubbed “ReWorked” utilizes new recycled materials and plans to release on Earth Day 2021. Previous Jaden Smith Vision Racer sneakers were already well known for their use of 60% recycled materials. Now, New Balance prepares to move their company and the world closer to sustainability and not just style.
“Sustainability has always been a top priority for New Balance and our commitment to fostering a healthier planet has never been stronger,” said John Stokes, New Balance Head of Global Sustainability.”
This Vision Racer chooses a simple Natural color to coat the upper. This upper comes comprised of panels repurposed fiber known as Spinnex, made of no less than 30% factory textile waste. Likewise, 5% of the EVA foam found in the midsole uses Spinnex as well.
Sprinkled throughout the overlays and chunky White midsole are small multicolored speckling similar to what we might find in other recycled sneakers. Instead of the usual (VISION RACER) branding we see below on the translucent rubber outsole, Jaden poses the question [DO YOU SEE IT YET?]. Could this be a hint at more to come from the Boston-based brand and the activist?
Syre and NB fans alike can score their chance to cop the Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer “ReWorked” on Earth Day April 22nd retailing for $155. Do you think they are worth the cop?
