Continuing the tradition, Kevin Durant pays homage to his late Aunt Pearl.

Previously in 2000, Kevin Durant’s dear Aunt Pearl lost her battle with lung cancer. As a result, in 2012 Durant began honoring her with his KD 4 sneakers by teaming up with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to create multiple colorways in Aunt Pearl’s name. Likewise, Kevin continues that tradition now with the KD 12.

Get into the look…

The Nike KD 12 Aunt Pearl includes inspiration from nearly all previous iterations of the sneaker. Notably, the synthetic uppers smoothly transition from one color and pattern to another. Above all, the silhouette takes on a transformative aesthetic from its graphics on the Pearl collar foam, sockliner and knit heel. Bursts of Neon Pink is marbled with Purple on the performance sole. Also, the same Neon Pink is strobel-stitched across the heel and accented on the lux tongue liner with this message:

IN MEMORY OF AUNT PEARL WHO INSPIRED US ALL TO CONTINUE THE FIGHT FOR A CURE

The embroidered knit heel “KD” logo hits hard surrounded by a rose covered heel patch. Full-length Zoom Air cushioning ensures performance is not lost in the elegant appearance. Velvet appears on the tongue, collar and sockliner. Flourishing Pearl Pink angel-wing straps from the KD 7 sit atop the crisscrossing laces with Pearl aglets and floral lace guard.

The KD 12 will be dropping just after Christmas day. Are you planning to cop a pair? Keep it locked here for updates on these and the latest in sneaker news.
