Brooklyn creative collective MSCHF just blew all our minds by destroying $76k worth of Birkin Bags to create the Birkenstock “Birkinstock” Sandals and an expensive pun. The team responsible for the “Jesus Shoe” used four Birkin 35 bags made from Taurillion Clemence, Porosus Crocodile, and Ostrich leather totaling $122,500 for the collective original purchases.
Two pairs of the Birkinstock Sandal come in Black, differentiated by the use of Taurillion Clemence (made from baby bull hide) and Ostrich leather. The textures, look, and feel stand alone in that regard. Meanwhile, the other two pairs come in White and Wine Red. All four pairs flaunt luxury quality with anatomically shaped cork-latex uppers, suede-lined footbeds, and Golden clasps and branding throughout.
Without a doubt, the MSCHF x Birkenstock “Birkinstock” Sandals are the most exclusive sandals ever made. Because however many MSCHF created from those four Birkin bags, with the New York Times reporting a total of roughly 9 sandals accounted for. And of course, three pairs have already been sold to artists Future, Kehlani, and an unnamed art collector. Want to know how to get yours? Well, if you have between $35-76K head over to birkinstock.shoes and try your luck before they are gone for good.
